RICHARD PINHAS
This is his 18th album with Heldon or in his own name. Father of an ambient form of electronic music in France, radical guitarist and pioneer on so many aspects - in the same time, he was during all these years the collaborator and the close friend of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze.
MAURICE DANTEC
Now a full-time writer, he published hard-boiled/techno-punk novels in the very famous French editor Gallimard's "Série noire". His first novel, La sirène rouge, was published in 1993, his second (Les racines du mal) in 1995: two important books between cyberpunk like Gibson, new science-fiction like Ballard, Dick or Spinrad.
GILLES DELEUZE AND NORMAN SPINRAD AS SPECIAL GUESTS
Unpublished texts and voices by the greatest French philosopher and one of the most important sci-fi writers can be heard on this album that includes two Frippesque solo landscapes by Richard.
THE MEETING
While Pinhas plays tronics on his distorted and electronified guitar, Dantec speaks or screams through Macintoshes, reading unpublished Deleuze texts. To be filed under minimal techno and electronic avant-garde music.
With features that include Nels Cline and The Residents, this album from polyhedren is a cinematic trip through global music. Bandcamp New & Notable May 1, 2022
